Ecdysterone (from Rhaponticum Carthamoides): Ecdysterone is a hormone present in plants and insects and has a typical steroidal chemical structure. The effects are quite opposite to the negative sides of anabolic steroids, and studies have shown it to protect liver function (14,15), and scavenge free radicals (5).
